We’re glad you asked!
Of all the Doodles out there ~ Goldendoodles, Labradoodles, Aussiedoodles, Sheepadoodles, Bernedoodles, and so on ~ the Whoodle stands apart and is unique. They are unique because the two breeds that make up this designer breed are both virtually non-shedding and low dander ~ the Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier and the Poodle.
So why blend the two breeds? The biggest reason is to merge the loyal, outgoing, fun-loving, friendly, fairly obedient (terriers tend to be strong-willed!) personality of the Wheaten with the Poodle’s alert, intelligent, highly trainable, active, and instinctual personality.
Another reason is specific to all you allergy sufferers out there. This may actually be the closest thing to a truly hypoallergenic dog you'll ever find!
Add to that their medium size, their loyal trait (from both breeds) and BAM...you’ve got yourself a phenomenal little friend who will love you with every ounce of his being forever!
One Whoodle owner of a spunky little Whoodle named Adler says, “I can’t say enough about this breed, Friends, if you’re looking for a dog with a great personality, hypo-alllergenic, and does not shed.” www.reluctantentertainer.com/why-we-love-our-whoodle-pup/

A cross between the Poodle and the Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier, he is a medium-sized dog with a soft,
curly coat and a wonderful personality. His adorable teddy bear looks and cheerful temperament make Whoodles popular with many pet owners. As Whoodles are mixed breed offspring of two purebred dogs, they are in the category of first generation hybrids. This usually fares well for the health of the puppies.
The Poodle is widely regarded as one of the most intelligent breeds, and the Whoodle is smart as well. This being the case, the Whoodle responds well to training and can learn quickly. Because these dogs can be energetic as puppies they require a firm and consistent hand in training. Positive reinforcement-based training methods are recommended and you should start your puppy with training and socialization as early as possible to prevent the development of problem behaviors.
The Whoodle exhibits a combination of the personality traits for which the Poodle and the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier are known. These dogs tend to be friendly and fun-loving and they get along particularly well with children. Whoodles are active and playful so they need a lot of exercise and active playtime. Because these dogs are also smart, they require regular mental stimulation to keep them from getting bored and developing problem behaviors. They love people and children, making a wonderful companion and family member.
The Whoodle exhibits a coat that combines the appearance of the Poodle’s curly coat and the Soft Coated Wheaton Terrier’s long, silky coat. A Whoodle’s coat may be either wavy or straight and it comes in a variety of colors including black, red, chocolate, apricot, silver, or parti (spotted). Because the coat is typically long it requires regular brushing and frequent grooming – Whoodles should be trimmed every 8 to 12 weeks. This breed is a great choice for allergy sufferers, as his coat is hypoallergenic and doesn’t shed.
As puppies, the Whoodle may have a dark coat that lightens with age as the puppy matures.
The average lifespan for the Whoodle is 12 to 15 years.
