Q: Where are you located?
A: We are one family, three locations. Our Tennessee Family Home is located in the Knoxville area. Our Northeast North Carolina Family Homes are in the Elizabeth City and Camden areas.
Q: When will your next litter be born?
A: We expect litters of mini Sheepadoodles and mini Bernedoodles this Winter 2024-25. Find out more about our future litters by visiting our Future Litters page.
Q: How much do your Sheepadoodles, Whoodles, and Bernedoodles cost?
A: All of our Doodles start at $2900. There is an additional surcharge for our mini's (under 30 lbs full grown); blue merle, parti merle, chocolate Sheepadoodles; and blue eyes.
Q: Do you offer any discounts?
A: Yes! We offer a 10% discount to all active duty military families and disabled vets, as well as first responders and health care workers. Please let us know if this applies to you on the application and provide proof of your military, first responder or health care worker status to receive the discount. We also sometimes offer a 50% discount to approved families for certified ESA puppies. There is a special application that needs to be completed if you are applying for an ESA puppy. If approved, ESA's will be chosen for applicant by FFD after Choosing Day has concluded.
Q: How can I get in touch with you?
A: You can click the contact button on the Home Page, or email us questions, and request a phone call by emailing us at doodledogsrock@gmail.com, or text us at (252) 316-2221, or through Good Dog.
Q: Do you allow visits?
A; The short answer is "Yes". The long answer is that, while we do allow visits to our home, there is: 1) a limit to the number of visits allowed - we allow ONE in-person visit for Choosing Day, and ONE in-person visit on Gotcha Day; 2) there is a safety protocol which needs to be strictly adhered to when preparing for your visit (you will receive an email prior to your visit outlining all the precautionary protocols). *We do sometimes allow visits prior to Choosing Day, on a case-by-case scenario.
Q: Do you offer a guarantee?
A: Yes. We offer a 2 year Health Guarantee against any congenital defects of the puppy (see below). In the event that your puppy has a minor umbilical hernia (very common in puppies due to mother chewing/pulling the cord after birth) when we send him/her home, we will cover the cost to repair the hernia (usually done during spay/neuter) up to $75, should it be necessary. Once we receive an itemized billing from your vet we will issue a reimbursement. However, the overwhelming majority of these minor UH's resolve themselves and there is no medical intervention needed.
Q: Do you dock tails?
A: We do not dock tails.
Q: How do I go about purchasing one of your Fleury Farm Doodles puppies?
A: After you've read through all our FAQs and decide that Fleury Farm Doodles is a right fit for you, start by completing the application (link at bottom of this page). There is a $150 Application/Call Back List fee (will be applied toward purchase of puppy) . This fee will hold your spot on one of our Call Back Lists. Once a breeding has occurred, we will contact you to find out if you're ready to move forward by paying the $500 Reservation Fee and be moved up to the Official Pick of Litter list. Both of these fees will be applied toward the purchase of your puppy. Both fees are non-refundable, but are transferrable to another litter.
Q: Are you a Good Dog Breeder? If so, do I have to complete your application in addition to Good Dog's application?
A: Yes, we are a certified Good Dog Breeder. And, Yes, we require anyone interested in adopting one of our puppies to complete our application. Fleury Farm Doodles' application is more involved than Good Dog's application.
Q: What if your current waitlist is full or you haven't yet started an Official Waitlist for the puppy I want? How can I get on the next waitlist?
A: Your completion of the full application and your $150 Application/Call Back List Fee (to be applied toward the purchase of your puppy) will secure your place on a Call Back List. We will keep a list of families in the order their application/fee is received and when our dams go into heat we will contact everyone on the selected Call Back List to confirm they are ready to make their $500 non-refundable/but transferable Reservation Fee. This fee will also go toward the purchase of your puppy. Reservation fees must be collected before breeding occurs to secure your spot of the Pick of Litter list. NOTE: If we are unable to reach families after multiple attempts/methods are made to get confirmation that they are ready to make their full $500 Reservation Fee, families will be removed from the Call Back List. Official Pick of Litter Lists will always have two spots reserved at the top for families who may not get a puppy from a litter they have made a reservation fee on due to litter size or preference unavailability.
Q: What if I decide I'm not ready for a puppy after I'm already on an Official Pick of Litter list, or if there aren't enough puppies in the litter I'm on the Official Waitlist for?
A: If you are on an Official Pick of Litter list for a litter, and if there aren't enough puppies in the litter, or if the gender/coloring you specified on your application isn't available on Choosing Day, your $500 Reservation Fee, as well as the $150 Application/Call Back List Fee, will be applied toward the purchase of your future puppy . If you determine you are not ready for a puppy after the Reservation Fee has been made, and you are on an Official Pick of Litter list, you may defer to a later litter one time before the $500 Reservation Fee and Call Back Fee are forfeited.
Q: What if there is a price increase while I am on a Call Back List waiting for a puppy.
A: New pricing will apply unless a $500 Reservation Fee has been paid. New pricing will also apply if a family has deferred to a later litter for any reason other than a shortage of puppies in the litter they were previously on an Official Pick of Litter list for. However, if there is a shortage of puppies in a litter a family is on an Official Pick of Litter for, and there is a price increase on the future litter, we will lock in the pricing that was in place when the Reservation Fee was made.
Q: How is it determined what order families will choose their puppy on Choosing Day?
A: The puppy selection process is based on the order in which full reservation fees are received. Selections begin when the pups are 5-6 weeks old. * Breeder always has option of Pick of Litter
Q: When will your current litter be ready to go home with their new families?
A: Puppies will be ready to go home with their new families when they are 8 weeks old, depending on how well the weaning process is going. The remaining balance must be paid by the time you pick up your puppy. We accept cash, credit cards (2.9% fee), and debit cards (1% fee) via invoice by the time your puppy is picked up. A Purchase Agreement will be signed electronically prior to pick up. If you are unable to pick up your puppy, or have your puppy delivered by the date determined for Gotcha Day, if we are able to make arrangements to keep your puppy longer, there will be an additional fee of $25-$50 per day, depending on circumstances for both the buyer and Fleury Farm Doodles, and we can only hold puppies for up to 7 days after the Gotcha date.
Q: How will I choose my puppy?
A: Puppies will be chosen in person or via a video call after puppies are 5-6 weeks old. The selection process/order is determined by the order deposits are received. Appointments will be made after the puppies are born.
Q: What kind of food do you feed your Doodles?
A: We feed all our pups when they transition to solid food Purina Pro Plan Puppy Sensitive Skin and Stomach Lamb and Oatmeal. We will send you and your new puppy home with a small bag of the puppy food they have been eating, to help you transition them into whatever food you plan to feed them. We recommend gradually adding their new puppy food into the food we send home with you over the course of a few weeks. We also recommend that you stay away from dog food with chicken (at least for the first year) due to the number of reported allergies dogs have had to dog food with processed chicken.
Q: Do you do any training with your Doodle puppies?
A: We start our puppies out right with Puppy Culture AND Empowered Breeder training. On day 3 of their lives we begin with Early Neurological Stimulation and Early Scent Introduction. They begin to experience a few loud noise exposures at 3 weeks. During their 4th week they are exposed to more sounds and tactile play, different spaces, as well as grooming, including nail trimming. We also begin house training with a doggy door at this age. When puppies move into their 5th week their sound and play exposure continues with puzzle toys and moving objects, as well as exposure to different people - different ages, sizes, colors and genders. When they are 6 weeks they are introduced to water play, the kennel, obstacle courses, expeditions, and more new spaces. From 7 weeks on we are busy preparing puppies for their new families and homes with go-home vet clearances with a head-to-toe physical inspection, their first vaccine, a microchip (if requested by buyer) and a fecal analysis.
Q: Do you require that my puppy be spayed/neutered?
A: This is such a good question...and we're so glad you asked! In the past, we have required that dogs purchased from us be spayed/neutered by 18 months in order for our health warranty to be honored. Our policy has changed. We have changed our position on this because research has now shown that early spaying/neutering (before 24 months) can potentially be harmful to dogs. Sex hormones provide a feedback signal to the brain that reduces the production of luteinizing hormone and without this feedback signal, the level of luteinizing hormone can become very high. Recent research has found that removing a dog’s reproductive organs too young can cause health problems throughout the animal’s body due to the hormone system becoming unregulated. Talk to your vet about hormone sparing sterilization, and click here to find out what the Parsemus Foundation is finding in their research and what their subsequent recommendations are in response to those findings. You can also read more about the dangers of desexing dogs from Dr. Karen Becker by clicking here. So, the answer to this question is, "Yes, we do have a Spay/Neuter Contract", but we now ask that our buyers wait until their puppy has turned two years of age before having their dog traditionally spayed/neutered. Traditional spaying/neutering prior to 24 months will void our Health Guarantee. It should go without saying, but we will say it anyway, that as a responsible pet owner, and until your female has been spayed after 24 months, or has received an ovary sparing sterilization (can be done at any age), diligent precautions should be taken while she is in heat to keep her away from intact males. And intact males should be kept away from females in heat until they are neutered after 24 months, or have a hormone sparing vasectomy (can be done at any age).
Q: Do you give Breeding Rights?
A: No, we do not give Breeding Rights.
Q: Will my puppy receive vaccinations?
A: Puppies will be given deworming medicine at 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks. Puppies are given the first dose of a 5-way vaccine between 6-8 weeks. This is a 3 series vaccine which you will likely continue with your vet 3-4 weeks apart. No rabies vaccine will be given by our vet because it should not be given until the age of 16 weeks. Please take some time to watch this YouTube video by Dr. Karen Becker for more information about vaccines, which ones to give, and when.
Q: Do you ship puppies?
A: No, we do not ship our puppies. However, in some cases, we may offer hand delivery of your puppy for an additional fee, or connect you with a pet transporter who has delivered puppies for us in the past. Go to the Delivery Options page under More for details.
Q: What are the differences between Sheepadoodles, Bernedoodles, and Whoodles?
A: All of these doodles are wonderful family dogs, loyal, good-natured, and are both very intelligent and trainable. F1 Bernedoodles and F1 Sheepadoodles often take on a lot of the Bernese Mountain Dog or Old English Sheepdog personality traits. They can be very goofy, are fun-loving, great with kids, they love attention and affection, and need exercise daily (BMD's and OES's are traditionally working dogs)! Whoodles are very intelligent and easily trained, energetic (they often get the zoomies even as adults!) and are very loving and playful. Bernedoodles love to just be around their family members, often ON their family members. This is also true of Sheepadoodles. Whoodles can be a bit more independent, though they also thrive most when they are with their family.
Q: What sizes are your Bernedoodles, Sheepadoodles and Whoodles?
A: Fleury Farm Doodles has worked hard to establish a consistency in our language regarding what sizes are called. It can be frustrating for families looking for a particular size dog to see a breeder promoting "mini (fill-in-the-blank) doodles" only to find out that their puppy will grow into a 50 lb dog. Since there is no official governing organization that sets weight classification standards for Doodles, breeders have come up with their own size classifications.
At Fleury Farm Doodles, we have now established weight classifications that are more closely aligned with AKC Poodle classifications, since the common denominator for ALL Doodles is the Poodle.
However, we are adjusting those weight ranges up by 10-15 lbs, particularly for Bernedoodles and Sheepadoodles, because BMD’s and OES’s are most often heavier than Standard Poodles, with a narrow difference in height. Wheaten Terriers would fall in the “Moyen”, or small standard, category for weight. Moving forward, this is how Fleury Farm Doodles is classifying our Doodle sizes:
~ Large Standard: Over 75 lbs
~ Standard: Between 50 - 75 lbs
~ Moyen (small standard): Between 30 - 50 lbs
~ Mini: Between 15 - 30 lbs
~ Micro Mini: Under 15 lbs

Purchase Agreement
Spay/Neuter Agreement
1. Traditional Spay/Neuter, technically called gonadectomy, are procedures that involve the removal of the testicles from males and the ovaries/uterus from females. After being spayed or neutered, dogs lack sex-related hormones (like testosterone and estrogen) that are normally produced by the testicles and ovaries. That’s a concern, since hormones are important for growth and development. Recent research has found that removing a dog’s reproductive organs can cause health problems throughout the animal’s body due to the hormone system becoming unregulated. For this reason, Fleury Farm Doodles has changed their policy on sterilizations.
A. Spaying/neutering, by a licensed, reputable Veterinarian, should not be performed on the dog prior to 24 months.
B. In the event that debilitating defects are confirmed during the 24 month health warranty window, in order for the health warranty to be honored, documentation from a licensed Veterinarian must be provided to the Seller that a traditional spay/neuter procedure was not performed prior to 24 months of age.
2. Hormone-Sparing Sterilizations: These are options that maintain normal hormone levels when sterilizing your dog. By discussing options with a knowledgeable veterinarian, the best sterilization method and timing for the dog and Buyer’s lifestyle can be determined. This individualized approach is recommended by the Society for Theriogenology – specialists in veterinary medicine dealing with reproduction. However, this method is not performed yet by many veterinarians.
3. No Breeding Rights: It is understood at the time of sale that the puppy is not to be used for breeding. It is structurally and temperamentally suited as a companion dog. It is being sold as a pet without breeding rights.
For more information on the evidence based research regarding this Spay/Neuter/Hormone Sparing Sterilization policy, please click the "Find Out More" button below, and/or follow this link to the Parsemus Foundation.

This fee does not include shipping. If shipping is required, the Buyer agrees to secure their own arrangements for shipping, and pay their transporter directly.
2. The Buyer bears all costs relating to the sale of the above animal, including transportation. The risk of loss or injury to the above animal is the responsibility of the Buyer at all times after the puppy leaves the Seller.
3. The Buyer agrees to have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within three (3) business days of taking possession.
A. If the puppy is found to be in poor health, the Buyer has the option of returning the puppy to the Seller, at the Buyer’s cost, for a full refund.
B. The Buyer will provide a written statement from a licensed veterinarian clearly stating the defect or illness.
C. If the puppy is not taken to a licensed veterinarian within three business days of taking possession, the health warranty is void.
D. Please ensure that the puppy is kept in a kennel or held in the waiting room of a veterinary office, and that the exam room is properly disinfected before the appointment.
E. Please do not let the puppy walk on the floor in the veterinary office and ensure the room was cleaned prior to putting your puppy on the table. We recommend bringing a clean towel or blanket with you to be safe.
4. The Buyer is responsible for all medical expenses associated with the treatment of intestinal parasites if the puppy is diagnosed, even if the puppy has parasites present when sent home.
A. If you are not willing to treat puppy parasites (sometimes more than one treatment is needed), then please do not buy a puppy.
B. It is common for puppy parasites to flourish after joining their new family (stress and change accommodate this).
C. Most parasites can be contagious, and it is possible that other dogs in the house can get them.
D. Do not let your other dogs eat the puppy’s feces and clean it up immediately using proper cleaning chemicals.
5. The Seller highly recommends the Buyer provide basic obedience training with their puppy within the first year of owning their dog.
6. The Seller highly recommends the Buyer postpone strenuous, forced exercise until after their puppy is over one (1) year of age to minimize joint damage as puppies develop.
7. The Buyer agrees to contact the Seller immediately if the Buyer determines they are unable to keep their puppy for any reason. The Buyer and Seller will jointly determine how the dog will be rehomed.
8. The Buyer agrees to never place their puppy with a rescue group, in a shelter, pound, or similar facility or research laboratory.
9. The Buyer allows the Seller to use any pictures of the dog that the Buyer posts on social media for the purposes of reposting and sharing on Facebook, Instagram, their website, Twitter, YouTube, etc. or in any manner they choose.
